There have been some rumours going around that PSP owners will be able to import their current collection of games to their PlayStation Vita. This has now been confirmed true as Sony announced the UMD Passportprogram. The process, however, will not be free.

The steps in downloading your PSP games isn’t very tedious either. They are as follows (courtesy of Andriasang):

New releases for the Vita Console

With the PS Vita launch in Japan a success, Sony has announced just what games will be available on launch day for those in North America. Games will retail for somewhere between $9.99-$49.99, with some of those being downloadable titles that can be purchased on the Playstation Network, while others will be regular disk based titles available wherever you purchase your games.

Pros and Cons of Vita !

Pros
  • Good quality, large screen (1.2 times to 1.3 times the PSP). Quality is a level close to the PS3
  • in the graphics the best ever handheld games, great organic EL display.
  • Comfortable viewing of the video (the video can be viewed comfortably smiling. Can not view Youtube at the moment).
  • Menu operation is comfortable
  • Clear sound quality (when wearing headphones, and no feeling like that is a little muffled.)
  • VITA play download games of the PSP. (UMB will not use the PSP basically)
  • As a game machine, the cross key buttons, a great user-friendliness with the two analog sticks.
  • PSP has a more upscale
  • Rich (camera, music, browser, GPS, touch screen applications, gyroscopes, accelerometers, etc.).Portable game machine in the past undoubtedly.
